Hanging and care

Hang away from direct sun and heaters. Roll from the bottom, painting side in. Never fold. Dust with a soft dry brush; never use water on the painted surface.

Why this one

The Medicine Buddha (Sangye Menla), lapis-blue, seated in full lotus. His right hand rests on his knee in the gesture of giving, holding the healing myrobalan plant; his left holds a bowl of medicine in his lap. The row of Buddhas across the top are the other Medicine Buddhas of the lineage; two monks stand below.

Often hung where someone is ill or in a practitioner’s or healer’s room. Black-and-gold style with the blue body and jewelled halo in full colour.

Painted on a single cotton canvas, unmounted. Ships rolled in a rigid tube from Sydney, or we can arrange a silk brocade mount.
